Professional Notarisation, Authentication, and Document Attestation and Witnessing Services You Can Trust

In today’s globalised world, individuals and corporations alike often need official documents certified for use both locally and overseas. Whether you are finalising an international business transaction, signing affidavits for use in overseas courts prepared by overseas lawyers, or authenticating corporate records and corporate officers’ identification, the process must be handled with precision and legal compliance. Our firm provides comprehensive services in notarisation, authentication, apostille affixation, attestation, and document witnessing, thus ensuring that your documents are properly executed and legally recognised wherever they are presented.

    Notarisation of Documents

Our Notary Public’s has years of experience and familiarity with a wide range of legal and commercial documents, including contracts, powers of attorney, board resolutions, educational certificates, and travel consent letters. Notarisation serves as a valuable and independent verification mechanism that a signature, seal, or authenticity mark on a document is genuine and/or has been executed voluntarily. It also provides assurance for overseas authorities and private entities that the parties involved have been properly identified.

    Urgency

We understand that clients often require urgent turnaround times for such notarised documents. Our experienced notary manages the process efficiently — from verifying your identity and witnessing your signature to preparing the official notarial certificate and seal. Whether you need to comply with the requirements of an overseas property purchase or empowering a representative through a power of attorney, our notarisation services are handled with care and confidentiality.

What is Authentication and Legalisation (Apostille or Embassy Consular Attestation)

For documents to be recognised in foreign jurisdictions, notarisation alone may not be enough. Many countries require authentication and legalisation, sometimes referred to as the “apostille process” or even embassy verification for documents generated in Singapore for overseas use.

    • Authentication: After notarisation, documents may need authentication by the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) to verify the Notary Public’s signature and seal confirmation.
    • Apostille or Consular Attestation: Depending on the destination country, the document may then be further verified through either an apostille certificate (for countries under the Hague Apostille Convention) or attestation by the relevant embassy or consulate.

Our firm assists clients throughout this chain of formalities — from arranging authentication at the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL) to liaising with foreign embassies for consular verification. We handle personal, business, and legal documents with meticulous attention, ensuring compliance with the exact requirements of each destination country.

For example, if a Singapore company is submitting a notarised board resolution to register a branch in Europe, we manage the full process: notarisation, authentication by SAL, and apostille affixation, delivering a document ready for use abroad without delays.

    Attestation and Certified True Copies

We are the authorised / appointed attestation lawyers for IDFC First Bank and offer attestation services to certify that a document is an accurate replica of the original. These may include passports, identity cards, PAN cards, employment passes and work permits issued by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) birth or marriage certificates, academic transcripts, or company incorporation papers. In some cases attestation may not be enough and certification of true copies by a Notary Public is often necessary for visa applications, overseas employment , and overseas education.

Our lawyers check each document carefully to ensure compliance before certification, preventing any likely rejection from foreign institutions or government agencies. Where translations are involved, we can coordinate certified translations by accredited translators to accompany the notarised documents, ensuring full acceptance by the receiving authority.

Witnessing Execution of Documents – Directors and Officers of Companies

When company directors or officers sign agreements, declarations, or resolutions, witnessing of such execution by a qualified professional provides assurance of validity and due process. Our firm acts as an impartial witness for such signings, verifying the identity and authority of the signatories. This service is particularly valuable for international contracts, cross-border investments, or transactions where corporate representatives must appear before a Notary Public to execute deeds or powers of attorney on behalf of their organisations. We ensure corporate documents are properly reviewed for completeness before witnessing, minimising risks of procedural errors or revalidation requests later.

Commissioner for Oaths – Affidavits and Court Documents

For matters before the Singapore courts or statutory bodies/local entities, our firm provides services of a Commissioner for Oaths to witness the signing of affidavits, preparation and drafting of statutory declarations, and other court-related documents. This step is essential for confirming that a person making a sworn statement understands the contents and is doing so voluntarily and truthfully.

We regularly assist litigants, lawyers, and self-represented individuals in completing this process smoothly and correctly. Appointments can often be arranged at short notice, ensuring that court filing deadlines are met without unnecessary stress.

Preparation and Witnessing of Statutory Declarations (SD)

Statutory declarations(SD) are formal written statements made under oath to confirm facts for use in administrative or legal purposes. These are commonly required for activities such as confirming loss of documents, verifying company matters, or making declarations to government agencies. Giving too much away may not be useful or necessary and our team assists in drafting and preparing statutory declarations tailored to each scenario, then witness the signing before a Commissioner for Oaths, Advocate & Solicitor or Notary Public. Every declaration is checked for clarity and compliance, ensuring it meets the requirements of relevant authorities in Singapore or abroad.
